Dr. Good's laboratory focuses on the intestinal mucosal immune response involved in the development of a gastrointestinal disease affecting premature babies called necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC).
Specifically, her laboratory is interested in:
- Determining the components of breast milk that are protective against NEC.
- Understanding the signaling pathways that are involved in NEC development.
- Evaluating the biological signature and genetic susceptibility of premature infants to NEC.
