International Patient Care Office

As physicians of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, we are always interested in extending treatment to patients from countries outside the United States. We ask patients to coordinate their requests for second opinions or treatment through their personal physician or sponsoring organization. This is needed because a thorough review of records is necessary to determine if we can assist the patient before any costs are incurred.

Please fax the following information for review:

  • brief clinical summary including previous surgeries
  • health history
  • current medications
  • radiology studies/imaging/pathology
  • laboratory results
  • medications

All information must be complete and submitted in English.

Coordination of physician appointments is made through our Washington University International Patient Care office. Services of the IPCO include assisting patients with:

  • Visa letters
  • Travel/housing recommendations
  • Interpretation services
  • Assistance with navigating the medical campus and St. Louis area
