Musculoskeletal effects of  kidney diseases, develop patient-tailored therapeutic strategies to protect against fractures, bone disease in adults and children with kidney failure, bone disorders in patients with kidney failure and after kidney transplantation, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, high-resolution in vivo bone imaging, bone biopsy, bone cell culture, and transcriptomics, clinical trials to identify new biomarkers of bone and muscle disease, identify pathways that mediate altered bone biology, test the efficacy of therapeutic approaches to protect the skeleton, skeletal effects of other systemic diseases, such as HIV and diabetes, the effects of bone therapies on the skeleton
