Your primary care physician should be a familiar face

Doctor and patient

Your adult primary care physician should be like a long-time friend you see once a year (or more often if necessary). This friend is happy to see you, asks all the right questions, listens to your answers, remembers details of your last visit, and wants to know how YOU are doing now. These are just some of the reasons having the right primary care physician is the most important choice you can make for your health care needs.

You might think that because you aren’t sick and don’t have any chronic health conditions, you don’t need a primary care physician. However, when you are healthy is the perfect time to establish a relationship with a physician. Your doctor can get to know you, discuss your health care goals, and most importantly will be there when you do need someone down the road.

Washington University Clinical Associates (WUCA) is a group of expert physicians and nurse practitioners dedicated to your adult primary care.

In addition to yearly physicals, WUCA primary care physicians see patients for common ailments including:

  • Respiratory infections
  • Sinus infections
  • Headaches
  • Back pain
  • Urinary infections

WUCA primary care physicians also manage chronic conditions such as:

  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Obesity
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

The MyChart patient portal ensures that your WUCA primary care physician has complete access to your medical records, test results and any other health history. You can be confident that your physician ALWAYS has the correct information needed to assist in your care.

Should you need to be referred to a specialist, your WUCA adult primary care provider has the technological and consultative support of Washington University specialists — and shares the same excellence and standards in care.

Make today the day you choose a WUCA primary care physician. Offices are open for in-person and virtual visits.  Here is the complete list of Washington University Clinical Associates.

VIRTUAL VISITS

During these unusual times we want to make sure your health care needs are being met. Washington University Physicians is offering virtual visits (also known as telemedicine or telehealth) for many of our specialties.

This service will allow us to continue to provide excellent care to our patients through their phone, tablet or computer — while keeping both our patients and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A virtual visit is a phone call or video chat that allows a patient to privately address his or her health concerns with a provider without an in-person appointment.

Your virtual visit will be billed to your insurance just like an in-person office visit would be. If there is a co-pay, you may be asked to pay it before your appointment.

To schedule a virtual visit, call your doctor’s office. See a directory of physicians at physicians.wustl.edu
