The Washington University Pediatric Allergy and Pulmonary Medicine Program addresses issues that affect breathing — including sinusitis (sinus infections), asthma, pneumonia, and sleep apnea. More than 3000 children are followed in our Pediatric Asthma Clinic as we care for children with a wide range of allergies. Our program features:
- The largest cystic fibrosis center in Missouri and second largest in the United States
- Leading national program in treatment and research of childhood asthma
- An accredited sleep disorder center, as designated by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine
Treatment provided for:
- Asthma
- Allergies (airborne and food-related)
- Sleep disorders
- Lung disease (including bronchopulmonary dysplasia, bronchiolitis obliterans, interstitial lung diseases, primary ciliary dyskinesia, vocal cord dysfunction, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and a variety of pulmonary complications associated with neuromuscular disorders.)
- Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders (EGIDs)
- Immune system disorders, including severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and other immunodeficiencies
- Cystic fibrosis and lung transplant
