Dr. Patel is a fellowship-trained skull base neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical management of complex anterior and lateral skull base diseases, such as meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, vestibular schwannomas, and craniopharyngiomas, in children and adults. He is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care for patients diagnosed with tumors that threaten neurological function and quality of life, approaching each case with meticulous surgical planning, clear communication, and a deep respect for patient goals.

He is among a select group of neurosurgeons nationwide who perform expanded endoscopic endonasal and minimally invasive transorbital surgeries that push the boundaries of minimally invasive skull base surgery and expand safe treatment options for patients. Dr. Patel is also a recipient of the prestigious American Association of Neurological Surgeons Van Wagenen Fellowship – a reflection of his commitment to advancing the field of neurosurgery through innovation.

Dr. Patel is the surgical director of WashU Medicine’s Pituitary Center and a member of the integrated skull base program, partnering closely with rhinologists, otologists, endocrinologists and radiation oncologists to streamline multidisciplinary evaluation and accelerate access to cutting-edge therapies. His patient care philosophy is grounded in empathy, transparency, and empowerment – helping patients navigate overwhelming diagnoses with clarity, aligning treatment strategies with what matters most to them, and ensuring that every individual feels supported from initial consultation through recovery and long-term survivorship.
