Research Interests

Health care policy implementation, value based payments, racial and socioeconomic based inequities in outcomes, social determinants of health. The goal of Dr. Hammond's research is to reduce inequities in cardiovascular disease due to systemic and structural inequities. Specifically, her work examines the role that health policy implementation plays in race and socioeconomic based inequities in cardiovascular disease outcomes. Current work is focused on gaining a better understanding of how hospital payment policies influence the implementation strategies used to manage high-risk, high-cost conditions for vulnerable populations and patients in low-resource settings.
