Washington University cardiac surgeons provide treatment for coronary artery disease, acquired and congenital diseases of the heart and vessels, complications of myocardial infarction, valvular heart disease, diseases of the aorta—dissection and aneurysm, cardiac arrhythmia, end-stage heart disease, congestive heart failure and chronic pulmonary embolism.
Services include:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), on and off-pump (or beating heart surgery), including minimally invasive or keyhole surgical techniques, transmyocardial laser revascularization (TMR) or TMLR) laser treatment for angina and endoscopic coronary artery bypass surgery (robotic surgery)
- Aortic valve repair and replacement (valvuloplasty), including minimally invasive approaches
- Mitral valve repair and mitral valve replacement (valvuloplasty), including minimally invasive methods
- Aortic aneurysm, including stent grafting
