The WashU Medicine Complex Care Clinic provides a medical home for children with complex health conditions from birth to adolescence. Our goal is to help families coordinate both acute and chronic care with WashU Medicine subspecialty providers, therapists and home care services.
We are available to our patients five days a week for well-child care, advanced assessment and management. We also provide pediatric primary care to siblings of our patients.
We welcome referrals for patients up to 14 years of age who do not currently have a primary care provider (PCP) to coordinate and manage their complex medical needs. Typically, these patients will have one or more of the following:
- Technology dependence (G-tube, tracheostomy, ventilator) or wheelchair dependence
- Two or more chronic conditions under active treatment
- Ongoing management by four or more WashU Medicine subspecialists
Complex Care Clinic patients must receive all of their specialty care through WashU Medicine providers, unless their medical needs cannot be met due to lack of specialty or procedural expertise.
