Virtual visits: The doctor will see you now

During these unusual times we want to make sure your health care needs are being met. Washington University Physicians is now offering virtual visits (also known as telemedicine or telehealth) for many of our specialties.

This service will allow us to continue to provide excellent care to our patients through their phone, tablet or computer — while keeping both our patients and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A virtual visit is a phone call or video chat that allows a patient to privately address his or her health concerns with a provider without an in-person appointment.

Many appointment types can be done through virtual visit, but some require an in-person visit. Please call your doctor’s office to determine what is best for your situation.

MyChart is always a great way to communicate with your care team remotely, and if you don’t already have an account, you should contact your physician’s office to be activated.

Your virtual visit will be billed to your insurance just like an in-person office visit would be. If there is a co-pay, you may be asked to pay it before your appointment.

To schedule a virtual visit, call your doctor’s office. See a directory of physicians at physicians.wustl.edu
