It never seems to fail – your child is sick, the pediatrician’s office is closed and you don’t think you can wait until morning – you want a medical professional to see your child as soon as possible.
Parents now have another option for obtaining care for their children and adolescents when their pediatricians’ offices are closed. St. Louis Children’s Hospital After Hours, located in South County, is a convenient walk-in service and offers care for non-emergencies. Please note that appointments are not accepted.
“Families now have access to high-quality, kid-focused care in a convenient setting, when their doctor’s office is closed, from a team trained in treating children and adolescents. It is a faster and less expensive alternative to ERs.” says Cheryl Grave, RN, CNP, manager of the After Hours program. Billing will be the same as if they are visiting a primary care provider.”
“Our process ensures families’ primary care physicians receive follow-up on the care we provide to patients,” Grave says. “And, if needed, we always will be available to help schedule appointments at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.”
